The Lumineers Announce Release Date For New Album, ‘Automatic,’ Share Lead Single “Same Old Song”

The Lumineers have announced that their fifth studio album, Automatic, will be released on February 14 via Dualtone. The record will be the follow-up to the Denver group’s 2022 Billboard Top 10 release, Brightside. The Lumineers gave fans a taste of what the new album will sound like by sharing the lead single, “Same Old Song,” which was accompanied by an Anaïs LaRocca-directed music video. Automatic “marks 20 years of songwriting between” singer/guitarist Wesley Schultz and drummer Jeremiah Fraites, who recorded the album in less than a month. Schultz says that the project feels “very much of this era,” with Fraites adding that there is “a palpable sense of connection between Wes and me” on these new songs. “There’s lots of love on this record,” Fraites reveals. The duo also co-produced the album alongside David Baron and Simone Felice. The Lumineers have a small handful of US tour dates this winter, before embarking on a spring European/UK tour which kicks off on April 23 in Vienna, Austria.  (Billboard)
