In a recent interview with People, 75-year-old Rick Springfield revealed that a fall he suffered 25 years ago has left him with brain damage. The singer discovered his brain injury following a recent full-body MRI scan, which stems from an incident that occurred during a performance in Las Vegas in 2000. “I fell 25 feet, hit my head,” Springfield recalled. “I thought I had just broken my wrist, but on the scan I found out I have some brain damage from the fall, so I’m working on trying to repair that.” Springfield also discussed his experience with ketamine therapy in hopes of managing his depression. “I wanted to see if it’d open a few things in my brain,” he said. The “Jessie’s Girl” hitmaker ultimately found that managing his alcohol intake had the best results, as Springfield admits, “That has actually helped more than anything.” (Rolling Stone)
