Patti Smith Set To Be Honored With Star-Studded Carnegie Hall Tribute Concert

Patti Smith will be honored with an all-star tribute concert at New York City’s Carnegie Hall on March 26, 2025. The event is the latest installment of City Winery founder Michael Dorf’s “Music Of” benefit series, with proceeds from the show going towards supporting youth music education. The confirmed lineup of performers includes Michael Stipe of R.E.M., former Sonic Youth bassist Kim Gordon, Matt Berninger of The National, Karen O of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Angel Olsen, Sharon Van Etten, Ben Harper, Courtney Barnett, Alison Mosshart of the Kills, and the Kronos Quartet. Additional artists and special guests will be announced soon. The house band will feature Smith’s bassist/keyboardist Tony Shanahan, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, and the Rolling Stones drummer Steve Jordan. Smith’s tribute concert will highlight her celebrated album Horses, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2025, along with selections from the rest of her catalog. (Consequence of Sound)
