Following Paul McCartney’s Spectacular Surprise Show At The Bowery, He Plays Second Show On Wednesday

On Tuesday (February 11), Paul McCartney played a surprise show at the Bowery Ballroom in New York for 575 lucky fans who packed into the intimate club. Following the overwhelming success of Sir Paul’s hits-filled 20-song set, the former Beatle announced a second show at the same venue on Wednesday night. And, just like the first night, the second show sold-out in under a half-hour. McCartney and his four-piece band kicked off Tuesday’s show with the Beatles classic, “A Hard Day’s Night,” which topped both the U.S. and UK singles charts back in 1964. Other standouts included a solo acoustic take on “Blackbird,” a rousing “Get Back,” a full-band rendition of the Beatles Grammy-winning “final” song, “Now and Then,” and the set closing one-two punch of “Let It Be” and “Hey Jude.” Following the encore of “Golden Slumbers/The End,” McCartney enthused, “This has been a blast — we’ve looved it.” So much so, in fact, that they did it again on Wednesday night. Rumors are that McCartney is in New York to take part in Saturday Night Live’s 50th Anniversary Special this weekend. (Variety
