Bruce Springsteen Added To Star-Studded Lineup For Patti Smith Tribute Concert

Bruce Springsteen has joined the all-star lineup for the sold-out People Have the Power: A Celebration of Patti Smith show at Carnegie Hall in New York on March 26. The tribute event, honoring the 50th anniversary of Patti Smith‘s iconic debut album, Horses, will feature performances by a stellar roster of stars, including Michael Stipe, Chrissie Hynde, Kim Gordon, The National’s Matt Berninger, Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karon O, Interpol’s Paul Banks, and many others. The house band is led by Smith’s longtime longtime bassist/keyboardist Tony Shanahan, and includes Flea, Benmont Tench, Charlie Sexton, and Steve Jordan. The event will be a celebration of Smith’s iconic album and her legendary career, as well as the 20th anniversary of City Winery founder Michael Dorf’s music series, which has donated over $1.8 million to music education organizations since 2004. Additionally, Smith’s upcoming Horses anniversary tour will kick off in Dublin on October 6, spanning Europe before concluding in Philadelphia on November 29. (Billboard)
