Billy Joel Set To Be First Guest On John Mayer’s New Interview Series, ‘How’s Life’

John Mayer is launching his new interview series, How’s Life, on Thursday (November 28), with Billy Joel as his first guest. The interview between the two music stars premieres at 8 p.m. ET on the Life With John Mayer channel on SiriusXM. How’s Life features Mayer hosting a series of candid interviews with big names in the music industry. In a preview clip of his conversation with Joel, Mayer asks the Piano Man how he approaches listening to contemporary music. “Is the writer present when you’re listening to new music, do you listen as a writer?” Mayer asks. “Yeah, he never goes away,” says Joel. “The writer thing is a curse that you take with you throughout life. And when I listen to material, or listen to other people’s songs, the writer is always at work.” Mayer will be on air on Thanksgiving beginning at 2 p.m. ET, taking calls and playing music ahead of his interview with Joel. Future guests on How’s Life include Shawn Mendes and Maren Morris. (Billboard)
