Bono’s Stories of Surrender stage show, which chronicled his life through the backstories of U2 songs, will be adapted into a documentary that will premiere on May 30 on Apple TV+. The film, directed by Andrew Dominik, will feature never-before-seen footage from Bono’s one-man show at New York’s Beacon Theatre, along with intimate acoustic performances of the featured U2 songs. In the documentary, Bono “pulls back the curtain on a remarkable life and the family, friends, and faith that have challenged and sustained him, revealing personal stories about his journey as a son, father, husband, activist and rockstar.” This production will also be the first feature film to utilize Apple Vision Pro and Apple Immersive Video, giving viewers an immersive 180-degree experience. Bono’s memoir, Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story, will also be reissued in an abridged and updated paperback edition featuring a new introduction by the singer. (Rolling Stone)
