35 Years of ZZ Top’s “Eliminator”

Friday, March 23 marks the 35th anniversary of one of the greatest American rock albums.

Eliminator was an album that saw the band expanding their sound with more synthesizers, drum machines and sequencers. Bruno MacDonald, co-editor of 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die, referred to the album as “an electro-boogie masterpiece.” Eliminator would go on to sell over 10,000,000 copies in the US alone and about 14,000,000 copies worldwide.
