CHEVROLET AND THE BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS TEAM UP TO PRESENT THE FAN VOTED MILESTONE AWARD AT THE “2014 BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS” ON MAY 18TH LIVE ON ABC

 

Fans Can Vote for their Favorite Chart Milestone Finalist Online at Billboard.com, and Enter Contest to Present Award LIVE Onstage to Winner with Global Music Superstar Kelly Rowland

 

SANTA MONICA, CA (April 1, 2014) – The Billboard Music Awards and Chevrolet are teaming up to celebrate the impact of this year's hitmakers with the second annual Milestone Award at the “2014 Billboard Music Awards” broadcasting live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 18 on ABC at 8:00 PM ET/PT.  Fans can vote for their favorite Milestone artist online and enter a contest for a chance to win an opportunity to present the award live at this year’s event alongside global music superstar and Billboard Music Award winner Kelly Rowland.

 

The special editorial award will be given to an innovative artist who has achieved a notable chart milestone over the past year. The six finalists for the 2014 Milestone Award presented by Chevrolet were announced today onBillboard.com – they are: Imagine DragonsJohn LegendLuke BryanOneRepublicEllie Goulding and Carrie Underwood.

 

"I'm really looking forward to presenting the Chevrolet Milestone Award at this year's Billboard Music Awards. I love being able to recognize fellow artists for their accomplishments and having the opportunity to present with a fan will make the evening that much more exciting!" said Kelly Rowland.

 

Voting is now open on Billboard.com/milestone. The six finalists will be narrowed down to three finalists, who will be announced on the website on April 21st.  Voting will then continue through the first two hours of the live 2014 Billboard Music Awards broadcast, culminating with the announcement of the award winner during the last hour of the show. 

 

"The Milestone Award recognizes artists who have made a powerful impact on music over the past year, with the winner determined by fan voting, the ultimate barometer of impact,” said Larry Klein, Producer of the 2014 Billboard Music Awards.   “We are honored to partner for the second consecutive year with Chevrolet and for their historic brand to be part of the ‘2014 Billboard Music Awards,’ a must-see live television event.”

 

Fans have the opportunity to enter a contest on Billboard.com/milestone for a chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to present the Milestone Award live on the 2014 Billboard Music Awards alongside superstar Kelly Rowland.  The prize includes two tickets to the show, hotel accommodations and airfare. To enter, fans must submit a photo along with an essay about why they think they should present the award.
